Trump praises African leader after his contentious comments:
President Donald Trump sought to fix relations Friday using a key African American pioneer in the wake of his contentious comments about African countries.
He commended the U.S. partnership to Rwanda through a meeting with its president in the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
Trump’s meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame came following Trump attracted widespread condemnation for supposedly speaking to African countries as “shithole countries” in ignoring a bipartisan immigration proposal, based on people in the meeting.
Trump has denied this language. Others present insist that he did. The 55-member continental body criticized the U.S. president’s opinions.
Trump explained enormous talks with Kagame, who’s starting a yearlong term as part of the African Union.
