A stringent disciplinary action in Finland will sideline Gbolahan Salami for a period of 6 matches for purportedly disrespecting a referee.
The Finland FA have Passed a six-match ban judgement to Nigerian striker Gbolahan Salami.
Gbolahan Salami has been handed a straight red card at injury time of his side KuPS’s 2-1 loss at home to Mariehamn on June 4. The Nigerian angrily protested a disallowed goal, directing his anger at referee Jani Laakosen.
Though originally given a compulsory two-match ban for the red card, a Disciplinary Committee of the FA has extended the sanction to six games.
That was after he admitted his guilt at a hearing to the incident. Consequently, the Salami (who has previously observed the two games) will miss KuPS’s upcoming fixtures against Ilves, PS Kemi, HIFK and Lahti.
