85% women want to leave their marriages, I tried thrice – Jaiye Kuti
Renowned Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti, shares insights into the challenges many women encounter in their marriages, highlighting a prevalent inclination towards considering divorce.
In a recent interview, the actress delved into the complexities arising from cultural disparities among couples, making the marital journey arduous.
Expanding on her observations, Jaiye Kuti pointed out that the post-marriage phase often unveils a deeper understanding of each other, surpassing the insights gained during the dating period.
She underscored the considerable difficulties these factors pose for most women.
Drawing from personal experience, Jaiye disclosed that she attempted to end her marriage on three occasions, only to find herself entangled in it.
Furthermore, she noted that men, driven by an egocentric inclination to cheat, tend to make contemplating an exit from marriage a more straightforward consideration.
In her words;
“If you ask hundred women, 85% wants to exit their marriage. I even tried to leave like thrice. The issue is when you marry someone from a different tradition and when a man wants to get married, he would treat and pamper a woman well but the second marriage and children are involved, everyone will start to show their true colours. Also, men can be egocentric in nature; and also can’t be stopped from cheating.”
