Actress Bimbo Akintola speaks on how some actresses make more money than others
Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has addressed the income disparities among her colleagues in the film industry.
In a recent interview, she mentioned that she often questions her peers about their extravagant lifestyles, as she doesn’t consider herself wealthy. She explained that people frequently approach her, pointing out how some actresses seem to be wealthier, and she clarified that she isn’t as financially well-off as they are.
Bimbo also highlighted that some of her colleagues fund their lavish lifestyles by dating or engaging with politicians, while others come from affluent backgrounds.
“Some of the luxurious lifestyles we see on social media might be real, but if they are, where does the money come from? People approach me and say, ‘Look at those actresses, they are very rich,’ and I tell them I am not rich,” she said.
I still ask them what they do because we know how much they sell films. From a lot of actresses I see, I don’t know if it’s from their rich homes or if there are other businesses they’re doing.
We have heard about actresses dating politicians and all of that, and we know things like that truly happen”.
