Actress Tonto Dikeh Blasts Popular Blog For Reporting Her Police Case
Actress Tonto Dikeh, known for her controversial public persona, has criticized the popular blog Instablog for reporting on her ongoing police case. Dikeh was recently summoned by Nigerian police for various offenses, including cyberbullying and forgery.
Taking to Instagram, she slammed Instablog for suggesting that she could face a potential jail sentence, calling the platform “useless” and “irrelevant.” In her post, she wrote: “Instablog, your child and your child’s child risk jail term… and I wish you this in good faith! Useless blog, you’re just now getting a video of what happened three days ago? You’re not a big deal after all! I’m at home enjoying the goodness of the Lord.”
In the meantime, both Tonto Dikeh and her bodyguard, Gbenga, have been summoned by the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, over charges of alleged assault and criminal trespass.
According to a report from Gistlover, a court summons dated August 6, 2024, has ordered the defendants to appear in court on August 24, 2024, to respond to the allegations.
The complaint, filed under court number CR/359/2024, was lodged by Elvis Abuyere, CEO of Skyewise Group Limited and owner of a car dealership in Abuja. Abuyere claims that Tonto Dikeh expressed interest in purchasing a brand-new Changan Uni-K 2023 model from Mikano Motors in January.
Believing Dikeh would pay the remaining balance in installments within three months of receiving the car, Abuyere, who reportedly has a dealership relationship with Mikano, paid N85 million in full for the vehicle.
Tonto reportedly paid N37 million as her first deposit on the used 2008/2009 Lexus, plus an additional N3.5 million.
However, the movie star failed to settle the amount by the end of April, when the payment window expired, thus violating the agreement.
On May 1, Abuyere retrieved the car from Dikeh following a failed effort to collect the balance. Dikeh later paid N20 million, N17 million, and N5 million, with an outstanding amount of N2.1 million.
On July 30, the actress contacted the car business to have the car serviced, and it was taken in for maintenance. After completing the repairs, the car company wanted the remaining N2.7 million from her.
However, she was said to have violently invaded the complainant’s company premises in Maitama, Abuja, with her bodyguard and two ladies, committing “criminal trespass.”
The actor is also accused of beating the accuser and other employees of his organization.
The four people disrupted business operations at the vehicle dealership, damaged property, and threatened to use social media to harm the complainant’s business.
