Afghanistan defense university under attack:
Explosions and gunfire were heard at a military college in Afghanistan early Monday, as reports surfaced that the college had been under attack, Marshal Fahim National Defense University is situated on a 105-acre center on the outskirts of Kabul.
Mohammad Ehsan, of Kabul, told reporters he heard explosions beginning around 5 a.m., and lasted for an hour. He noticed that smaller blasts may nevertheless be heard afterward, but at less regular intervals.
Gunfire could be heard coming out of the entry to the academy, Afghan news channel reported. security has cut off access to streets surrounding the academy.
A police spokesperson confirmed to reporters that an incident happened within a military center close to the college, but could not say whether it had been an assault by insurgents or an army dilemma at the college.
Further information about the number of attackers and potential victims were uncertain. Both the Taliban and ISIS have established several significant strikes across Afghanistan in the last several years.
