Alesh Sanni laments as courts sentence man to 14 years for stealing a fowl
Nollywood actor and fashion enthusiast, Alesh Sanni, has expressed his dismay over the perceived injustice faced by a man reportedly sentenced to 14 years in prison for stealing a fowl in Osun State.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion, with reports indicating that a court handed down the controversial sentence. Actress Biola Bayo brought further attention to the case by interviewing the man’s mother on her show. The mother expressed her anguish over the situation, calling it a grave injustice, and appealed to the Osun State governor for intervention.
Although details surrounding the case remain unclear, the Osun State government has pledged to look into the matter after the video of the interview went viral online.
Reacting to the situation, Alesh Sanni criticized those in positions of power for abusing their authority. He remarked that while the government itself is not always the problem, the malice in the hearts of certain individuals in power often leads to such misconduct.
He wrote, People in power just do anyhow in this my country Nigeria…. Imagine someone just stole a fowl and was sentenced… Imagine 14 years in prison for just a fowl…. Please those in charge should be published because whyyyyyy… This isn’t about government but about the evil people in power. You people have no fear of God. This is really sad…. It takes nothing chai… Nothing but freedom walai chai”
