Asake reveals the damage his tattoo caused him
Nigerian musician Asake has shed light on the hurdles individuals with tattoos encounter when seeking employment opportunities in Nigeria.
Asake articulated this perspective in an article featured in the latest edition of GQ magazine. He recounted his personal experience of facing prejudice that hindered his prospects of securing employment or engaging in business endeavors, solely because of his neck tattoo.
The singer remarked, “In Nigeria, having a tattoo on your neck bars you from employment opportunities. It’s virtually impossible to find work in any company or market products.”
Asake delved into his unexpected journey to fame, emphasizing that his success in the Nigerian music scene wasn’t instantaneous, contrary to popular belief.
The “Yoga” crooner claimed that he had been trying for years to achieve success and that he had only recently arrived at his goal.
