Bandits kill businessman, kidnap many in Katsina community
Bandits murdered Tukur Makeri, an agricultural product seller, and abducted many others from the Bakiyawa Community, Batagarawa Local Government Area in Katsina State.
According to reports, the bandits that stormed the community Wednesday night, September 14 also injured four others and broke into many houses, and looted many shops during the operation that lasted for about three hours.
Zayanna, a resident who spoke to Vanguard about the incident, said that the gunmen entered the community on more than 40 motorcycles and shot sporadically. This situation caused Bakiyawa residents to flee the area, seeking safety.
Marwan also disclosed that four of the victims wounded by the terrorists are presently receiving treatment at the Katsina Teaching hospital.
“The terrorists were very many. It is difficult to state their exact number. They took away many people from our village after killing Tukur Makeri, a dealer in agricultural products who was buried earlier today. (Thursday),” Marwan said.
