Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has sparked backlash with her praise for Kamala Harris following Harris’s defeat in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate who stepped in after Joe Biden withdrew from the race, lost to Republican candidate Donald Trump, who garnered over 267 electoral votes.
Responding to the news on her Instagram page, Biodun expressed admiration for Kamala, highlighting how the politician managed to make a significant impact in just 100 days of campaigning, securing votes that many male candidates struggled to achieve. Calling her a “superwoman,” Biodun praised Harris’s remarkable strength, resilience, and drive.
She noted that Harris demonstrated the strength needed for the role but remarked that America might still not be ready for a woman president.
“In just 100 days, she campaigned relentlessly. Hats off to a true Superwoman! Her strength, resilience, and drive are phenomenal. Bravo! She has proven her unmatched strength to face the task if given the chance, but Americans are not ready for a woman president yet.”
