British music channel, MTV Base reportedly bans Marlian music
In the aftermath of the tragic demise of the renowned Nigerian singer Mohbad, there are reports indicating that MTV Base, a prominent British music channel, has taken the step of prohibiting Marlian music.
Naira Marley, the Nigerian musician facing allegations related to Mohbad’s untimely passing, happens to be the proprietor of Marlian Music, the record label in question.
As a reminder, Gistreel previously conveyed that Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Records, passed away under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
In light of the controversial circumstances surrounding the singer’s demise, several national radio stations have opted to ban all music produced by the Marlian Music record label.
Ehizojie Okoeguale, a staff member at MTV music channel and a well-known TV host, who goes by the name DadaBoy Ehiz, has announced the decision to ban Marlian music. This move aligns him with the growing list of music platforms that have taken a similar stance.
In a post shared on his X, Okoeguale wrote: “MTVbase dropped everything Marlian. Kudos to dem.”
