Bug displaying Indian language character can crash your iPhone:
A devastating bug has struck iPhones making them crash when a single Indian character is sent to the device or even typed in the text editor.
Devices running iOS 11 are affected and crash when any application receives the character in Telugu language.
Apps become unresponsive, such as iMessage and apps like WhatsApp, Gmail, and Facebook messenger, according to tech website The Verge.
But, other apps like Telegram and Skype appear to be unaffected.
The bug also affected macOS versions of Safari and Messages, but Apple’s public beta version of iOS 11.3 is unaffected, the Verge reported.
Apple stated it’s working on a fix for its iOS 11, the macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4 and tvOS 11 models that the bug affects.
The company said older versions weren’t affected by the bug and added that Apple had already fixed the issue in the current beta versions of the operating systems.
