Bukunmi Oluwasina chides colleagues as she supports actress attempting to break Guinness Record
Nollywood actress Bukunmi Oluwasina has shared a message with her colleagues as she expresses support for rising actress Jumola Bello, who is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest stage performance.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram, Bukunmi voiced her disappointment over the lack of support from their peers. She mentioned how Jumola reached out to many of them, and although they saw the viral video, they ignored her.
Bukunmi criticized the culture of only supporting or showing up for people who may be useful in the future, calling it more of an “emotional transaction” than genuine support. She questioned why people can’t offer love and encouragement to those who can’t directly benefit them, even occasionally.
She pointed out that if a well-known celebrity were attempting the same feat, the response would be different. Urging her colleagues to show support, she emphasized the importance of being there for people before it’s too late.
“realojumolabello started a journey 5 days ago, attempting @guinnessworldrecords Longest Acting on stage. She hasn’t slept and is very exhausted. And based on what is said, she has reached out to a lot of us before and during this journey. It was her last day and she had even exceeded the acting hour, but only two colleagues showed up to show support.
And No, let’s not pretend we didn’t even know about it. We do. You do. A lot of public figures have been tagged. And again, let’s not say, “I don’t think I know her.” No, you do. 99% of those who have worked with @iteledicon01 know her; she is a fantastic Actor, writer, Continuity, and even Directs once in a while.
At least if you can’t show up, post. As much as I love to just stay and mind my business, I find it heartbreaking. I do not see any growth in a place where the only people we support, show up for, or show love are the only people we know we might need later. That’s not love. That’s not support. That’s a complete emotional transaction.
How about loving and supporting people who can’t do Anything for you, too, ONCE IN A WHILE? I know it’s a busy period, and a lot of people have things doing. But out of your busy days, you still show up for people that you will need later.
If it was a celebrity that attempted this, it wouldn’t be like this. This lady has been in the industry for years. If not b4 me self.
Please let’s show support. Please! Please!! Please!!!
It’s a bold step she is attempting. A win for one is a win for all.
Win or not, she is in a critical stage at the moment cos of the disappointment she got from her colleagues. Let’s not watch people die before we show up for them.
Please. Please”.
Also taking to his Instagram page, Jigan Babaoja showed support for her as he made it known that he doesn’t kiss anyone’s asses, hence why he isn’t friends with everybody in the industry.
“Oko mi na person wey send you to make you send! I no Dey kiss ass na why I’m not friends with everybody
@realojumolabello go and win”.
