Car driven into crowd outside primary school in China
A car has driven into a crowd outside a primary school in Hunan province, China, as reported by state media.
While there are no confirmed details on casualties, it has been stated that “several students and adults were injured and fell to the ground.” Multiple people have been sent to the hospital.
The driver, who was in a white SUV, was reportedly apprehended by parents and school security staff before being handed over to the police.
A video shared on a private WeChat account showed children lying on the ground, while panicked students with school bags ran from the scene.
The incident occurred outside Yong’an Primary School in Dingcheng District, located in southern Hunan province.
This marks the third such attack on crowds in China within a week. On November 12, at least 35 people were killed in a car attack in southern China, and over the weekend, a stabbing at a school in eastern China left eight people dead.
On social media, there have been discussions about the social phenomenon of “taking revenge on society”, where individuals act on personal grievances by attacking strangers.
