Caroline Danjuma fumes as she issues a public warning following backlash over her prayers for President Tinubu
Nollywood actress Caroline Danjuma has issued a strong warning to the public regarding her newfound support for President Tinubu.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress expressed her support for the president and his administration, a stance that sparked criticism from fans who recalled her past condemnation of colleagues who supported him during the election.
In a lengthy post addressing the backlash, Caroline dismissed the idea that celebrities should ignore criticism, calling it “old-school PR.” Instead, she stated that in today’s world, people either educate or firmly confront detractors, and she has chosen her path. She made it clear that she does not need fake followers or superficial support.
Reflecting on her past experiences, Caroline revealed she has lost friendships, including those with Desmond Elliot and Toyin Lawani, due to defending others online. Ironically, these same individuals, she claimed, are quick to criticize her on blogs. She emphasized her resolve to speak out, rejecting the need for fake love or validation. Highlighting her detachment from social media pressures, she pointed out that she has deleted her Instagram account four times to prove she does not rely on it for affirmation.
The entrepreneur and former wife of billionaire Musa Danjuma asserted her right to make personal choices, including praying for, forgiving, supporting, or cutting ties with anyone, and made it clear that she is not obligated to act as anyone’s advocate or foot soldier.
“Yes, they say do not respond, but that is old-school PR. This day, you need to lecture or drag people to hell. I chose what I wanted or whom I wanted. I don’t need fake followers or supporters.
I have lost a lot of friends because I defended you lots, friends that even supported me in my early times of acting, e.g., Desmond Eliott. Because I stood against his words; I literally blocked him. What of Toyin who only showed me kindness and blocked her because of her choice of candidate in short I went on a blocking spree because I felt I needed to support my fans and followers .. truth is a lot of you are always the first to abuse me when lies are written about me on the blogs .. now I have to speak up while I am still alive ..
Even when a clown lied, I tried to destroy his home, and I secretly married someone. Some ran to abuse me; when I did the Feed Lagos campaign, a lady stole money 4/5 times here; even if I had supporters, it takes a lot to convince people you need assistance cause they see you as wealthy lol.
I do not need your fake love or likes. I deleted this page 4 times. I really do not need fake followers; those who know me know when I support, I go all out and selflessly. I do not judge anyone; I only support them.
I have a right to pray for anyone, forgive anyone, show kindness support, or cut off. I am not your foot soldier or advocate because even if I die today you will always have something negative to say.
This is my page, I am real and do what I feel is best. I have chosen peace of mind over high blood pressure. This year, I was duped by a woman I saw as a big sister; she has two furniture showrooms, but I chose to connive with her sister to dupe me. A lot happened this year, but I chose to praise God instead of complaining.
I HAVE ADVOCATED AGAINST THE GOVT MORE THAN ENOUGH IN THE PAST. Now my energy is for the real people who need help that are not on Instagram.
I have been running my NGO since 2004 only, but last year, I opened an account and started posting. I do not do things for your accolades, I went through assu strike like you, lost the woman who raised me to bad health care, she was a devoted teacher”.
