Court grants Seun Kuti bail, gives police 48 hours
The chief magistrate’s court in Yaba (Lagos state) has granted Seun Kuti bail.
The singer was released on bail on Tuesday, 16th May. The court ordered the police to investigate an alleged assault on a police officer within 48 hours.
Seun Kuti’s car was halted on the Third Mainland Bridge and the son of the famed Fela Kuti was detained for slapping an officer.
Femi Falana, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the defense counsel begged the court to not remand his client.
Seun had claimed that the police officer threatened his life and that of his family.
