Daddy Freeze hails Pastor Tobi Adegboyega amidst £1.9 million fraud allegations
Media personality, Daddy Freeze, has shown love to his friend, pastor Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, a Pentecostal Church based in London, England, as he fights an alleged fraud case.
We reported on Friday, June 17, that SPAC Nation, a charity established in 2012 to promote Christianity, had been accused of defrauding its members.
At first, the church group received positive reviews and media attention. But by late 2019 SPAC Nation was subject to media scrutiny following allegations by former church members that they had been financially exploited by senior church personnel.
Before initiating confidential inquiries into the activities of the church group, the Insolvency Service was made aware of complaints about SPAC Nation.
Adedapo Olumbenga Adegboyega was interviewed by investigators. He was also known as Pastor Dapo or Dapo Adegboyega. Interviews revealed that Adedapo Olugbenga Adegboyega claimed that the church group had more than 2,000 members and 200 ordained pastors and ministers, but he did not provide any supporting information.
Further investigations revealed that SPAC Nation failed to comply with or partially fulfilled statutory requirements. This included providing data support for claimed donations and accounting records to support expenditures of PS1.87 millions.
In the company’s financial statements, PS610,000 was spent on rent in the two-year period ending 31 December 2019. The company didn’t have a single London base and so would rent venues in London to host services. This was a significant expense.
Salvation Proclaimer Ministries Limited had to be wound up after the court found that the company was opaque, had incorrect or suspicious accounts and was insolvent.
The company also failed to provide adequate accounting records and provided inconsistent information to both the Insolvency Service and Charity Commission.
The Charity Commission is still investigating the company. It is looking into financial, governance, and safeguarding issues at the charity.
