“Davido has been supporting me even before I became famous” – Ruger
Fast-rising Afrobeats artist Ruger has opened up about the significant role played by his senior colleague, Davido Adeleke, in supporting his career, even before he gained widespread recognition.
In a recent interview with Beat FM, Ruger shared insights into how Davido has been pivotal in advancing his career. This discussion stemmed from a question regarding “The Big Five,” a term previously mentioned by the record label boss, which included Ruger.
Ruger revealed that he first crossed paths with Davido in 2020, before his rapid rise to fame in 2021. He added that the A-list artist has been consistently providing substantial support to him over an extended period, including efforts to promote his music.
In his words, “Davido is someone that has been supporting me right from the beginning of my career even before I came out in 2021. He met me in 2020; heard some of my songs and liked it. He has been creating awareness for my song even before I released my first song. Burna Boy has also supported in his way in O2 2021.”
