Davido reacts as music producer, Napji calls him out over alleged unpaid royalties
Nigerian music sensation Davido has addressed allegations made by an emerging music producer named Napji regarding unpaid royalties.
In a post on his Instagram and X accounts, Napji asserted that he had produced Davido’s chart-topping tracks “Female,” “Jowo,” and “Sunlight” featured on the album “A Better Time,” released in November 2020.
Napji claimed to have received only a N500,000 advance for each song and alleged non-payment of royalties and publishing fees. He hinted at the possibility of disclosing further details and encouraged the public to draw Davido’s attention to the matter by tagging him.
“I am Napji, the producer behind Fem, Jowo, and Sunlight on @davido album (A better time), which was released on 13th November 2020.
I was paid an advance of 500 thousand naira for each of the songs. I will be releasing more information as I seek to collect my royalties & publishing”.
Taking to his Instagram comment section and his Twitter page, Davido responded to him with “Your papa”.
