Decades after training, a 90-year-old finally goes to space on Blue Origin flight
It took over 60 years for Ed Dwight to realize his dream of traveling to space.
Initially selected by then-US President John F. Kennedy as the inaugural black astronaut candidate in 1961, he was never chosen for a NASA mission, denying him the opportunity. However, that changed recently.
At the age of 90, he finally achieved his goal, of becoming the oldest individual to journey to space. On Sunday, he joined a six-person crew aboard the Blue Origin spacecraft, which carried them to the brink of space before safely returning them to Earth via parachute.
