Police detectives in Ondo State have detained a self-acclaimed senior officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Chukwuneta Emmanuel, who chartered a taxi, drugged the motorist and stole his car.
It was reported that Chukwuneta Emmanuel approached the driver of a Toyota Sienna bus, Oluwaseun Johnson, at about 9a. M. in a Benin park at Akure, the Ondo State capital. He chartered it to take him to Asaba, Delta State.
After Oluwaseun the driver of the bus, with number plates KRD 739 DQ, got to Asaba, he checked into a hotel to spend the night and the suspect, Emmanuel bought him a drink, spiked it and gave same to the motorist to drink before sleeping, following the long trip.
Chukwuneta Emmanuel then drove the car to an unknown destination, while the motorist was under the effect of drug. The driver quickly raised alarm when he woke up later to find his vehicle.
The issue was reported at the state Police Command in Akure and detectives tracked the suspect and apprehended him in Anambra State.
