Elton John left with ‘limited vision’ in one eye
Sir Elton John revealed that he has been left with “limited vision” in one eye following a “severe” infection. The 77-year-old music icon shared that while he is on the mend, his recovery will be gradual.
“Over the summer, I’ve been battling a severe eye infection that has sadly resulted in limited vision in one eye,” he wrote on Instagram. “Although I’m healing, it’s a slow process, and it will take time before my sight fully returns.”
He expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’m incredibly thankful for the excellent care I’ve received from my team of doctors and nurses and for the support of my family.”
Many celebrities have sent their well wishes. Designer Donatella Versace commented, “Sending you so much love, Elton! Get well soon. Love you.” Tennis legend Billie Jean King added, “Sending our love and support. Feel better soon, friend.”
Sir Elton John, famed for hits like “Your Song,” “Rocket Man,” and “I’m Still Standing,” has sold over 300 million records in his illustrious career.
Last year, he played the last UK show of his farewell tour to an estimated 120,000 people at Glastonbury.
