Fireboy DML discusses the strong bond among YBNL artists
Afrobeat sensation Fireboy DML has shed light on the close-knit camaraderie among fellow artists under the umbrella of his record label, YBNL. Recounting a personal anecdote, he reminisced about the time when Asake and Olamide took the reins in styling his hair.
During a recent interview on Max 102.3 FM Lagos, the singer was probed about the competitive dynamics within YBNL, the brainchild of acclaimed musician Olamide.
Fireboy countered by expressing his obliviousness to any sense of rivalry among them. Instead, he emphasized that each artist is dedicated to carving their own distinct path. He underscored that simultaneous song releases wouldn’t hinder anyone’s progress.
The artist affirmed the presence of genuine affection among the YBNL cohort, spotlighting a specific occasion where his mentor Olamide and colleague Asake lent their expertise in grooming his hair.
