The Ghanaian government denies authorizing security advice to its nationals residing in Abuja.
On Wednesday, November 16, a statement purportedly from the Ghanaian government’s offices went viral. According to the purported statement, it advised Ghanaians not to travel non-essentially to Abuja because of increased insecurity. This statement became viral several weeks after security alerts were issued by the UK and USA.
The Ghanaian government stated that the security alert was not authorized in a statement issued Wednesday night, November 16.
