“How I worked as a bus conductor for 8 years in Lagos to make ends meet” – Ibrahim Chatta opens up on his past struggles
Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has shared his past struggles as a bus conductor.
During an interview with his colleague Biola Bayo on her Talk to B podcast, he revealed that he once lived in a cramped room with nine other people, describing it as a challenging time in his life. He recounted walking long distances from Agege to Ikeja and working as a bus conductor for eight years.
Reflecting on his journey, the talented actor expressed gratitude for his hard work and prayed for divine blessings. “I lived in a room with nine people, and it was tough. I used to walk from Agege to Ikeja back then. Later, I became a bus conductor, doing it for eight years, working from Iyan Oba, Oshodi, to Eko, moving from one bus to another. I have worked so hard in life; may God crown my efforts,” he said.
Ibrahim’s remarkable journey highlights how far he has come in his career. Recently, his colleague Odunlade Adekola honored him with a recognition award for his contributions to the Yoruba movie industry.
Last month, Ibrahim was left humbled following a visit by the Oyo State National Police Force (NPF) to his Film village. He shared a video of their visit, as he expressed how humbled he was to receive them. He revealed that they discussed the security of their community, curbing piracy, and sensitive movie props around Oyo State with ease.
