How Olamide gave me free verse after rejecting ₦100m – Tiwa Savage
Tiwa Savage, the acclaimed songstress, recently shared a touching story about her encounter with fellow artist and rapper, Olamide.
Savage revealed that Olamide turned down a ₦100 million payment for a verse in her song after his management had quoted the fee.
The “Stamina” singer explained that Olamide refused to charge her due to their sibling-like bond and his understanding of the challenges faced by female artists in the music industry.
In a gesture of kindness, Olamide provided the verse for free, demonstrating his supportive and generous nature.
Tiwa Savage expressed her gratitude and highlighted that there are genuinely good-hearted individuals in the industry, like Olamide. The singer, who recently collaborated with Olamide on the track “Commona,” expressed her appreciation.
“I was talking to his management, I didn’t want to talk to him directly cus he would want to do it for free. Spoke to his team and they charged N100m. I was willing to pay. When Olamide asked them who the artiste was, they said me and he just said NO. He won’t take it.
He said I am his sister and he knows how difficult it is to make it in the industry as a woman. That’s how he denied and guess what? He gave me the verse for Free. Good people exist and Baddo is one”
