Huge fire engulfs 14-storey shopping centre in China
State media reports indicate that a fire at a shopping center in Zigong, Sichuan province, has resulted in the deaths of at least 16 individuals. On Wednesday evening, rescue operations successfully saved 30 people, and the fire was extinguished with rescue efforts concluding overnight.
Although the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, initial investigations suggest it may have originated from construction activities within the building.
Video footage from China’s state media and social platforms depicted dense black smoke rising from the 14-story structure.
