“I am a confirmed hustler” – Funke Akindele addresses billionaire title after ATCJ gross over N1B
Nollywood box office sensation Funke Akindele has clarified misconceptions surrounding her billionaire status after her latest movie, “A Tribe Called Judah” (ATCJ), grossed over a billion naira.
Funke Akindele set a groundbreaking record in the Nigerian film industry, with “A Tribe Called Judah” becoming the first Nollywood film to reach the billion-naira mark in a short time.
Akindele’s movies, including “A Tribe Called Judah,” “Battle On Buka Street,” and “Omo Ghetto The Saga,” are the highest-grossing Nollywood films to date.
Addressing the false impression that she personally pocketed the billions, the mother of two explained that she did not take home that amount of money.
She explicitly informed her fans that she is not a billionaire because of the movie’s earnings, but she is a hardworking individual who continuously strives in her career.
“Thanks dear. I’m not a billionaire! My movie A Tribe Called Judah grossed over a billion naira. But I didn’t take the billion home o!!! I be confirmed hustler.”
Funke Akindele’s statement is a response to a fan who wished to meet her in person and the misconception that she went home with billions of naira.
