I Go Save tackles government over arrest of pedestrians for not using pedestrian bridge
Nigerian comedian I Go Save has raised a series of questions directed at the government regarding their recent implementation of a law targeting pedestrians who fail to use designated pedestrian bridges.
Expressing his concerns via a video on Instagram, he highlighted instances where the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) squad has been seen apprehending individuals for this offense.
While acknowledging the rationale behind enforcing such regulations, he criticized the outdated methods employed in apprehending offenders.
In his plea, he urged for a modern approach similar to that found in developed nations, emphasizing the necessity for effective traffic signals at zebra crossings to facilitate pedestrian safety.
Additionally, he questioned whether the construction of pedestrian bridges adequately considered the accessibility needs of individuals with disabilities, particularly noting the potential challenges posed by lengthy staircases.
