”I had a vision for myself” – Hilda Baci speaks on balancing life after fame and breaking stereotypes
More than a year after earning the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours, Hilda Baci is offering a rare glimpse into her life post-achievement.
The talented chef reflected on the extensive preparation behind her renowned “cookathon” challenge, which captivated both Nigeria and the global audience.
Baci shared that a friend had suggested she could sit while cooking, but she refused, explaining that she didn’t want to risk disqualification from the record.
She added that while it would have been easy to take it easy and gain fame just by participating, her goal was to claim the World Record plaque because she had a clear vision.
Going forward, Hilda Baci noted that there’s a lot of stereotypes surrounding women who look like her. She said that a lot of people think women like her have little or nothing to offer, and that’s why she had to work really hard.

Hilda Baci’s interview earned her a lot of accolades from fans, who expressed just how proud they were of her.
