“I have more money than 90% of people I looked up to” – Burna Boy
Award-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy recently shared reflections on his journey to success, expressing pride in his achievements and explaining why he refrains from looking down on others.
In a heartfelt Instagram Story, the Nigerian singer shared insights about his rise to wealth, recalling how, in his youth, wealth was mostly associated with politicians, oil tycoons, and “Yahoo boys” (fraudsters).
Coming from humble beginnings in Port Harcourt, Burna Boy noted how much has changed, mentioning that he now has more wealth than 90% of the people he once viewed as “moneymakers.”
Using his story as encouragement, he urged fans to recognize that anyone has the potential for greatness.
“Imagine growing up and only politicians and oil men were the ones really getting REAL money followed by the G boys. Music was not even in the conversation when money was the Topic.
“Now, an ugly black musician from Port Harcourt got more money than 90% of the people he looked up to as moneymakers. This is why I never count any you h people out, because they could be Elon Musk 2moro typing this same message,” he wrote.
