“I seek God’s face before releasing songs” – Singer, Spyro reveals
A fast-rising Nigerian singer Oludipe Olawasanmi David (better known as Spyro), has revealed that he often seeks God’s face before releasing any song.
In a recent interview, with Punch’s Saturday Beats’ “Who is Your Guy?” crooner said that he often goes to God for direction and blessings before releasing a song.
He stated that he has never written a song without asking God first.
“I usually go into God’s presence to seek His face, His blessings and directions, days before releasing any song. I don’t do anything without first enquiring from God.
I am of the opinion that there is a physical part to things, and also a spiritual part; so I make sure I take that spiritual part seriously. One needs someone working behind the scenes for one”, he said.
On the inspiration of his hit song, “Who is Your Guy,” he said,
“It was actually a love song when I first recorded in 2021 as freestyle. However, when I wanted to release it in 2022, I decided to revamp it and make it more relatable to as many people as possible. It’s not just about lovers; ‘one’s guy’ could be anyone, ranging from family and friends.”
