“If I am going to d!e, let me d!e a fine boy” – Falz shares how he was attacked almost k!lled on a highway in Abuja
Rapper Falz shared a harrowing experience in which he, along with his friends, faced an attack by armed robbers that posed a serious threat to their lives.
During an interview on “Untapped,” he recounted the incident that took place on November 16, 2013, on an Abuja highway, resulting in the tragic death of their driver.
Falz detailed the terrifying moments when he and his friends, en route to an Abuja wedding where he was slated to perform for a substantial fee of a million dollars, found themselves confronted by armed assailants.
Despite originally planning to travel by plane, a last-minute decision led them to embark on the journey by road at the suggestion of a friend named Sule.
As they faced the life-threatening situation, the rapper revealed that they began saying their final prayers, fearing for their lives in the midst of the perilous incident.
However, one of his friends expressed disapproval of them taking the road and asked the rapper to pray before they continued, erasing the thought because it was during the day.
He and his friends talked to the driver about his driving style and he promised to make changes, so they fell asleep while driving.
A loud bang woke them up, and they saw a man holding a gun in the middle of the road; it appeared he had fired three shots at their car three times, with the third round hitting their driver in the eye.
Describing the situation, Falz said:
“We see this turban tying, AK47 welding, dangerous-looking men in the middle of the expressway maybe like 5, we could not count; they were directly shooting at our car everything was happening within seconds, so fast from the first bullet coming to us waking up, the second bullet coming to us taking cover, to the third one that hit the driver in the eye.”
