“I’m 31 but released my first hit track at 17” – Davido reflects on his early music career
Nigerian vocalist David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, revisited his early days in the music scene while appearing on The Bridge Show, offering insights into his humble beginnings.
The Omo Baba Olowo shared that he embarked on his musical journey during adolescence, alluding to his rapid ascent to fame.
The conversation was initiated by Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who expressed his admiration for Davido’s musical work.
Tchouameni revealed that he started listening to Davido’s songs at the age of 10, with “Back When” being the first track that captured his interest.
In response to the footballer’s remarks, Davido expressed his pride in his initial accomplishments in the music industry.
He subtly highlighted his achievement of releasing his debut major hit single at the age of 17, underscoring his youthful introduction to the industry.
“I started young though. I was very young when I released some of my hit songs. I am 31 now. I was 17 when I released ‘Back When,’” Davido said during the interview.
