Lagos man charged to court for allegedly stealing neighbor’s goat

Abdulfatai Olagunju, 41, was arraigned by the police before an Isolo magistrates court in Lagos for allegedly stealing his neighbor’s goat.

Olagunju was accused of the theft of the goat after he had given it a substance to stop it from crying.

Inspector M. Solomon, the prosecutor, stated that Murphy Chinedu, the goat’s owner, saw that the goat was missing. This raised alarm and led to the arrest.

Although Olagunju denied the theft, the trail was traced back to his home. The incident at Kedeibu Estate in Ijegun, Lagos was reported to Iseri-Oshun Police Station and led to the suspect’s capture.

Upon being interrogated, Olagunju claimed that he bought the goat found in his compound from the market to celebrate Sallah with it.

The Magistrate, Mrs. O. I. Williams, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned to August 24.
