Meghan launches surprise new lifestyle brand
The Duchess of Sussex has introduced what seems to be a fresh lifestyle venture called American Riviera Orchard.
This unexpected revelation occurred on Thursday through the launch of a new Instagram profile and website, both providing sparse details.
Following her engagement to the Duke of Sussex, Meghan ceased operations of her former lifestyle brand, The Tig.
Since stepping away from her official royal duties, she has delved into various media projects, many targeting female audiences.
Details about the new brand remain scarce.
The American Riviera Orchard Instagram page showcases a brief, low-resolution video depicting hands arranging flowers, Meghan engaged in cooking in a kitchen, and a woman in a formal gown standing at the end of an extensive colonnade.
The website displays the brand logo and encourages visitors to join a waiting list.
The bio section of the Instagram account, which has already garnered tens of thousands of followers, simply states “by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex” and “Established 2024”.
Notably, her official Instagram account has not received any updates.
The part of California where Meghan, Prince Harry, and their children live is often referred to as the “American Riviera”.
US media report there is a pending trademark application for “American Riviera Orchard”, showing that the brand plans to sell home goods, such as decanters and kitchen linens, as well as preserved foods such as jellies.
The application also mentions cookbooks.
The 42-year-old former Suits star has recently been in the public eye more in the US.
She spoke last week about bullying on social media at the SXSW festival, a few days before a US judge threw out her half-sister’s defamation lawsuit against her.
