Mixed reactions as Funke Akindele addresses her movie leak, speaks against dragging audiences in cinema
A video of Nollywood box office star Funke Akindele addressing the leak of her previous movie has sparked mixed reactions online.
Last night, Funke hosted the cast, crew, and cinema partners of her upcoming blockbuster, Everybody Loves Jenifa, slated for release on December 13th. The film has already generated buzz among fans of the popular series, Jenifa’s Diary, with high expectations for its success.
Reflecting on the unfortunate leak of her earlier project, A Tribe Called Judah, which surfaced on Telegram while it was still showing in cinemas, Funke urged cinemas to enhance security measures to prevent unauthorized phone recordings.
Expressing gratitude for the record-breaking success of her last film, the mother of two shared her hopes that her new project would surpass its achievements at the box office.
She also spoke against dragging audiences to watch a particular film. She advises against doing such things because people already have a particular film they want to watch.
A mixed response followed her statement as many took her words contrary to their meaning.
