Mohbad: Iyabo Ojo vows to stand by Omowunmi until proven guilty
Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has openly declared her support for Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer Mohbad unless a court of law finds her guilty.
The singer tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, in mysterious and still unresolved circumstances, sparking widespread speculation and accusations online. Many netizens have cast doubt on Omowunmi, suspecting her involvement.
Amid the ongoing investigation, Iyabo Ojo voiced her stance, pledging to stand by Omowunmi unless legal evidence proves her culpable. In an Instagram Live session, she criticized those spreading unverified claims about Omowunmi’s role in her husband’s death.
Iyabo challenged social media users to provide concrete evidence to the authorities if they truly believed in the allegations rather than resorting to public speculation.
“A lot of people are angry that I’m supporting Wunmi. There is no concrete evidence that she is guilty. Until the law proves her guilty, I will continue to support her.
“If they like, they should drag and curse me. I will not stop being nice to her. Until the judge says otherwise with evidence, proof beyond every reasonable doubt.
“Also, everyone who has said they have evidence should take it to the right authorities. I don’t make social media judgements; there are laws in the country,” she affirmed.
