MrBeast: Law firm finds grooming claims against co-host baseless
MrBeast has announced that the lawyers he hired to investigate allegations against his former co-host, Ava Kris Tyson, have determined the claims to be “without basis.” Tyson, who stopped collaborating with MrBeast in July after accusations surfaced regarding her sending inappropriate messages to a minor, reportedly aged 13 at the time, when she was 20, has apologized for her “past actions.” However, she insisted her behavior never went beyond “bad edgy jokes” and denied any grooming.
The alleged victim, who was publicly named, also defended Tyson, calling the allegations “massive lies” and stating that they had never been “exploited or taken advantage of.”
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is known for hosting the largest YouTube channel with 325 million subscribers, focusing on stunts, challenges, and philanthropic efforts. Tyson, who came out as transgender last year, has been a regular presence on the channel since its inception in 2012.
After the allegations surfaced in July, MrBeast expressed his disgust at the “serious allegations of Ava Tyson’s behaviour online” and condemned such “unacceptable acts.”
On Friday, he shared a letter on X from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, the law firm hired to investigate the claims. The letter stated that the firm conducted 39 interviews with current and former employees and reviewed over 4.5 million documents, including communications from mobile phones, emails, and various messaging platforms.
The investigation concluded that the allegations of sexual misconduct between employees and minors were unfounded and had been “soundly rejected, including by alleged victims.” It also stated that claims suggesting the company knowingly employed individuals with histories of illegal conduct were similarly baseless. While the letter acknowledged some isolated instances of workplace harassment and misconduct, it noted that the company acted swiftly and appropriately once made aware.
In response to the letter’s publication, the alleged victim reiterated that the claims were “completely false,” emphasizing that their name was used to make serious allegations without ever being consulted. They expressed frustration about having their name publicly associated with such claims without the chance to share their side of the story.
