Nasser hospital: Israel special forces enter key Gaza medical facility
Israel’s military has deployed its special forces into the besieged Nasser hospital in southern Gaza, describing the operation as “precise and limited.”
The military suspects Hamas fighters are hiding inside and believes Israeli hostages’ bodies might be present. This action follows the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) instructing thousands of displaced individuals to vacate the premises the day before.
The Nasser hospital, situated in the southern region of the Gaza Strip, is the largest medical facility in the area. Earlier video footage depicted medical staff rushing patients on stretchers through smoke-filled corridors.
According to a spokesperson for the Hamas-run health ministry, the Israeli military breached the hospital complex’s southern wall to gain entry.
Ashraf al-Qudra said the hospital administration had been asked to transfer all patients, “including intensive care and nursery patients” to an older hospital building.
