“Nollywood is a danger zone for young girls” – Actress, Regina Daniels shares as she thanks mum for protecting her
Regina Daniels, a popular Nollywood actress, has stated that Nigeria’s movie industry is dangerous for young girls.
This assertion was made by the mother-of-two in an Instagram video that she shared with her Instagram followers. She also shared her encounters with a 14-year-old makeup artist on a film set.
She claims that the 14-year-old girl admitted to having spent the night with several people in their hotel room some of whom take advantage of her.
Regina stated that she was concerned about the little girl because she too joined the industry as a young girl and knows the dangers.
Regina, who called Nollywood a dangerous zone, remembered how her mother Rita Daniels, an actress, protected her from being sexually molested and harassed by directors.
After listening to the girl’s story, she decided to enroll her at a Delta State boarding school. She was surprised by how well she scored in her entrance exam.
Regina berated her colleagues, who had previously turned a blind eye to the girl, and pleaded with them to, now on, stand against child labor.
She noted that she has also vowed to fight against any movie producer who casts young children in their films.
Sharing the video on her Instagram page, she wrote, “DISCLAIMER!! This goes to celebrities and movie producers. Please say NO to child Labour. And keep the industry secure.”
