Patience Ozokwo is emotional as she receives AMVCA Merit Award
Patience Ozokwo, a veteran Nollywood actress, shed tears of joy when she was awarded the Industry Merit Award during the AMVCA ceremony that just concluded.
When she received the prestigious award, “Mama G,” as she is affectionately called, was taken completely by surprise.
In her emotional speech of acceptance, Patience revealed how Charles Inojie, a fellow actor, convinced her to attend the event without knowing the recognition awaiting her.
Taking to her Instagram account, Patience expressed her gratitude and promised to write a heartfelt appreciation post to everyone involved.
However, for the time being, she needed some time to recover from the shock of the award.
Patience faced several obstacles earlier in the day. These included a canceled flight from Benin and a flight delay from Asaba.
Despite these challenges, she managed to make it to Lagos, thanks to the encouragement of Charles Inojie.
In her Instagram post, Patience wrote;
“A few hours ago, I was telling my daughter that I might not make it to Lagos because of the canceled flight and the delayed last flight out of Asaba. I had just attended a family wedding in the East on Friday and barely made it back to Lagos. Thanks to @charlesinojie for encouraging me to come. For now, let me rest. My speech will come later.”
