Peller reportedly on FBI watchlist for cybercrime
Nigerian TikTok star Peller has reportedly caught the attention of the FBI due to his past involvement in internet scamming, known as Yahoo-Yahoo.
This information was shared by controversial investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo, who claimed in an audio post on her social media that a source within the FBI tipped her off about Peller’s alleged connection to cybercrime.
Olunloyo stated that Peller had previously admitted during a TikTok session to participating in Yahoo-Yahoo before achieving fame and shifting to legitimate income as a content creator.
She urged the 19-year-old social media personality to be cautious about his future statements, warning that his past admissions could result in serious legal repercussions. Olunloyo drew a parallel between Peller’s situation and that of Hushpuppi, the influencer currently serving time in the U.S. for cybercrime-related offenses.
“If you know Peller, pls tell him to SFTU. He is about to single-handedly ruin his own future,” Olunloyo cautioned, noting the increasing scrutiny on influencers suspected of online fraud.
Kemi’s claim has sparked a wave of reactions from social media users who disregarded it as a typical ‘cock and bull story from the journalist’ while others emphasized the catastrophic potential of the claim.
