President Buhari has been a disaster in the management of diversity – Bishop Kukah
Mathew Kukah (Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese) has taken another swipe at President Buhari.
In an interview with Channels TV, Kukah who is a strong critic of the government of the day alleged that President Buhari has been a disaster in the management of Nigeria’s diversity. He went further to accuse the President of being blatantly nepotistic.
On the state of the Nation Bishop Kukah stated:
“This place is a talent killer. This is not how you treat young people and expect them to have a bright future. The volatility and contestation will continue. While we may hold elections, we won’t expect to see the results.
This is the only country where you ask yourself, what are the qualifications people bring to the table? Papers are the last thing.
People come because they believe it is their right and it is their turn. But it is not our time to do good. It is our responsibility to compensate for the marginalization of our people.
Two things are against the President. I stand by them. I have a lot of respect for him, but he has been a failure in managing diversity and blatant nepotism. It is morally unacceptable. And I stand to be corrected. Are these things not true?
When asked if he fears for his own safety, Bishop Kukah said;
”When people talk about fear, I say fear of what? The only thing I am afraid of is breaking the law and I leave with it everyday. The only thing that can give me a sense of fear is that I have broken the law. Short of breaking the law, I will fear a human being or fear what? I have not abused anybody. Even my worst critics will concede that I have never insulted anybody.”
