PVC registration hits 10.4 million – INEC
Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that new registrations in the ongoing nationwide Continuous voter Registration (CVR), has reached 10,487,972 as of Monday, June 27.
This information was revealed in the weekly CVR update of the commission, which was released in Abuja Monday, June 27, 2007.
According to the document the number of registrations completed was 8,631,696 (online: 3,250,449, and physical: 5,381,247).
There are 4,292,690 men and 4,339,006 women. According to the gender category, 6,081,456 youths were registered. 67,171 of these youths were PWDs (Persons with Disabilities).
In addition, the update revealed that INEC received 23,560.043 applications, including those requesting voter transfer, replacement of Permanent Voter Card (PVCs), and updating voter information records.
The breakdown also indicated that 12,317,963 of the applications were from males, 11,242, 080 were female, and 187,904 applications were received from PWDs.
