“Say no to bleaching” Davido’s manager Asa Asika advises Nigerians
Asa Asika, the talent manager for Davido and former partner of DJ Cuppy, recently took to social media to urge Nigerians to refrain from bleaching their skin.
In a concise but impactful Twitter post, he stated, “Say no to bleaching,” without providing further context for his statement.
It’s worth noting that in December 2023, Nollywood actor Jerry Amilo sparked rumors of bleaching after a video of him surfaced online. Many internet users were puzzled by his notably lighter skin tone compared to his usual darker complexion.
Speculations about skin bleaching circulated widely among Nigerians, although prominent social media influencer Bitcoin Chief suggested that the change could be attributed to Snapchat filters rather than actual skin bleaching.
Back in November of 2023, actress Ify Eze had slammed a troll who accused her of bleaching. She had taken to her Instagram page to share a video of herself looking beautiful in traditional attire.
However, the post, which attracted lots of positive comments, had a particular commenter accuse her of bleaching her skin.
The actress, who was upset, retorted back as she classified the commenter as stupid. She further criticized her for her audacity to post such comments on her page.
