Singer Halsey splits from Alev Aydin, files for full custody of their son
After three years together, Halsey, a singer-songwriter, has ended her relationship with Alev Aydin.
The singer, who uses the pronouns “they/their”, filed a petition on April 5 to determine the parent-child relationship. This was almost three weeks ago. They requested that the court award their former partner “reasonable” visitation rights and full physical custody of their son, who is 21 months old.
The Grammy-nominated musician is also asking the court for joint legal custody, and that fees for costs and litigation be divided between both parties.
The pair were first linked when they were spotted together at a Los Angeles Lakers game in 2019. Halsey first confirmed their affair in January 2021 via a social media post, revealing that they were expecting their first child together.
She later told Allure, “Alev and I have been really good friends for four years. And when the stars aligned, our relationship became romantic and it was pretty evident that he and I were both like, ‘Oh, my gosh! You’re the person I’m supposed to start a family with.’”
