Teni on why she prostrated to greet IBD Dende on the plane
Teni, the renowned musician also known as Teni Apata, has explained her gesture of prostrating to greet Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, popularly known as IBD Dende, a prominent businessman and socialite, during a plane encounter.
Following her posting of a video showing her bowing to greet IBD Dende on social media platform X, Teni faced criticism, especially considering the smuggling allegations surrounding him.
Despite the backlash from many social media users over her association with him, Teni clarified on Sunday morning that she was unaware of any illicit activities attributed to IBD Dende.
She further explained that the businessman had shown her kindness back in 2014, before her rise to fame, and that she had always held him in high esteem.
Teni further noted that she opposes illegal activities or criminals.
She wrote:
“MET IBD IN 2014 AND HE WAS SO GOOD TO ME, EVEN BEFORE I BLEW UP, SO WHEN I SEE HIM, ITS ALWAYS LOVE. I HONESTLY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH HIM. I DO NOT SUPPORT CRIMINALS, SO LET THE LAW TAKE ITS COURSE”
