Nollywood actress Joke Jigan has sparked mixed reactions on her timeline by criticizing the Yoruba Nollywood industry for their insincere support of Toyin Abraham.
Jigan accused her colleagues of being hypocrites who wait for negative events to happen so they can display their support through lengthy posts. She referenced a popular song lyric, calling them the “president general among the nation.”
She wrote, “Yoruba film industry people are the real PRESIDENT GENERAL AMONG THE NATION. They’re the ones who eagerly post SUPPORTING EPISTLES when something bad happens to you.”
Jigan’s post came after her colleagues began sharing messages of support for Toyin Abraham on social media. Her remarks received mixed reactions, with some supporting her and others feeling that the post was inappropriate given the actress’s distress.
