“There’s nothing we can do” – Bobrisky’s Lawyer shares an update on his case
The news of Bobrisky’s arrest and subsequent court appearance spread rapidly across the internet, generating significant interest among netizens eager for updates.
During an interview with TVC News, Bobrisky’s legal representative clarified that they were unable to influence the decision to postpone the verdict until April 19th.
They emphasized that they had referenced relevant statutes, highlighting Bobrisky’s status as a first-time offender, and advocating for leniency in sentencing.
The lawyer detailed that the prescribed penalty for initial offenders in cases of currency defacement is a fine of #50,000 Naira or a six-month imprisonment term. They revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had agreed to Bobrisky’s proposal to settle the fine.
In court, Bobrisky expressed remorse and pledged to reform, claiming ignorance regarding the consequences of his actions, asserting he was unaware that “spraying” money was a derogatory term.
Despite the EFCC’s acceptance of Bobrisky’s proposed fine payment, his release remains pending, as he remains in their custody.
So far, Bobrisky has spent over twenty-four hours in the hands of the EFCC, over money mutilation, and videos even surfaced online of him spray money at a party.
Celebrities like Eniola Ojo and Simi Gold have both reached out to him and sent their love and support, with Eniola feeling guilty about what happened with the Bobrisky because she felt like it was her movie premiere that caused it.

The court highlighting Bobrisky’s status as a first time offender which they are advocating for leniency in sentencing’ the lawyer said.
Does Bobrisky’s status matter started this year or two days back. Or did the court not aware when Bobrisky’s started the whole thing while not call him to order all this while and were using it against him now.
They should only charge him for the offence commit now and allow him to pay the fine’ of #50,000 or serve the jail sentence, after then they can proceed to other thing I think.
Not that am supporting Bobrisky’s in any way please.
